Fichorova Lab Receives Accreditation
Based on the results of a recent on-site inspection, BWH Genital Tract Biology has been awarded an accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Director Raina N. Fichorova, MD, PhD, (pictured) and research assistants Vinay Ratnam and Valentina Atanassova were advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the “excellence of services being provided.” BWH Genital Tract Biology is one of approximately 6,000 CAP-accredited laboratories nationwide.
In addition, Fichorova will chair a National Institutes of Health (NIH) committee to identify and standardize cytokines in blood and genital secretions as biomarkers of vaginal inflammation and immune dysfunction.
